Business Concept, Competition, and Competitive Advantage

Management intends to operate among three primary market segments: consumer electronics companies, businesses that have GPS system needs, and worldwide government agencies. Among the first segment, Management intends to license its technologies to be used within hardware that is sold to consumers that use GPS and integrated navigation systems in their cars/trucks. Mr. Hossain intends to implement a number of new algorithms, functions, and interfaces that will drastically improve the usability of today’s technology. Among these businesses, the Company will generate recurring streams of revenue from both the sale of the initial license and revenues from upgrades and technical service.

The second market segment are companies that have GPS needs. These businesses include shipping companies, car rental businesses, and logistics management firms that need to track merchandise/vehicles on a regular basis. Mr. Hossain will develop relationships with these businesses to sell software and off-the-shelf hardware solutions for logistics needs.

The final segment targeted by IZ3 are security and government agencies that require GPS systems with increased functionality. Increased functionality includes live air, land, sea, space vehicle and personnel communication / navigation logic for global operations.

Management expects that government agencies may require specialized development of new software, which in turn, may create new business lines that IZ3 can implement.

Competition among businesses that develop telematics products is intense. The commoditization of the electronics industry coupled with the recurring streams of revenue generated from ongoing upgrades has led a number of companies into the market. Competitors within the industry include, but are not limited to:

  • ·NavTeq - This company provides mapping data as well as navigation design software.  It is the software aspect of this company that iZ3 intends to overtake in conjunction with mapping data from Microsoft, Google, TeleAtlas or other mapping data agencies.
  • ·Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) - This company provides GIS software for a multitude of uses, primarily geographic planning.
  • ·OnStar – This is a GM product that is installed on most of their mid-range and high end vehicles. As such, GM vehicles may not need software sold by i-Zone-3 Technologies.
  •  ·Vehicle Tracking Incorporated – This Company produces a number of software components that are used on computers and mobile electronics. They provide many of the same software modules that IZ3 will offer to its clients.
  •  ·Garmin, Ltd – This company has developed a number of proprietary navigation products that are used within consumer applications. These products do not need to be installed into a vehicle. Garmin will be a continued competitor of the business.

Management intends to retain a competitive advantage over these competitors by continually making reinvestments into the Company’s R&D and marketing infrastructure.

The Company will be able to maintain successful business operations because of the following:

  • ·A software development firm that is able to provide a number of off-the-shelf hardware solutions coupled with integrated software that represents that state of the art in telematics technology.
  • ·Recurring streams of revenue from royalties, upgrades, and technical support.
  • ·A management and development team that can develop new and innovative software modules for a multitude of consumer, corporate, and military applications.
  • ·Potential to develop large consulting and development contracts with major corporations and government agencies.
  • ·A Management Team that will be able to manage the day to day operations of the business while focusing on bottom line income growth.

Marketing Opportunity and Marketing Plan

i-Zone-3 Technologies, Inc. will grow through several avenues:

  • ·The successful development of additional software modules for use with a number of off-the-shelf hardware products on the market.
  • ·The development of an effective marketing campaign that targets major corporations and government agencies.
  • ·The successful acquisition of capital to expand i-Zone-3 Technologies’ operational capacity.
  • ·Establish a strong presence among consumer electronics companies, logistics companies, and government entities.
  • ·Build a large network of independent sales agents to sell directly to the government and corporations.
  • ·Continually develop new GPS and navigation software modules so that the Company can retain its clientele.

Revenue Model and Projections

Year 1

  • ·In 2008, IZ3 intends to begin distribution of its GPS software and navigation systems to the target market segments discussed in the fifth section of the business plan.
  • ·The Company does not expect revenue in the first year of operation.

Year 2

  • ·Management intends to continue to develop new software modules for off-the-shelf GPS components. IZ3 will also work closely with major corporations for custom software development.
  • ·The business will generate $1 million dollars of sales, and $613,000 of gross profits.

Years 3-5

  • ·At this point, the business will have several companies that use IZ3 for their GPS and mobile electronics software development needs.
  • ·By the fifth year of operations, the Company anticipates that it will be generated yearly revenue in excess of $1.29 billion.
